Porter was honored with two awards for The Shop by Porter at the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter’s 19th Annual INawards on Nov 3.

A panel of judges named The Shop Best in Category for the INworkplace Micro category, recognizing corporate and not-for-profit workspaces at 15,000 sq. ft. or smaller. The Shop by Porter was also named People’s Choice, an honor decided by a week of public voting.

“It defies categorization,” the IIDA judges said of The Shop. “It becomes this incredibly new blended, blurred, amazing thing that can be what you need it to be when you’re in that space.”

The judges also commended The Shop for providing inspiration to small businesses and for opening up the design and corporate real estate industry to the rest of the world to experience.

The Shop by Porter, located in Downtown Seattle, seamlessly integrates hospitality with design, event, office, and immersive retail, serving as a gathering place for the creative community at a time when culture and connection have never been more important. Part café, part boutique, part showroom, this space defies categorization. At the beating heart of the radical hospitality concept that inspired this utterly unique, experimental weekday space is a love for Seattle, a passion for the local design community, and a belief that design can create both experience and connection.

The project was designed by Graham Baba Architects with construction by MRJ Constructors, casework by Creoworks, custom art by House of Sorcery, and local art curation by Vanessa Vaughan.
